Petition filed against ex-minister’s daughters

Land grab case

A petition was filed on Friday before the court in Jammu accusing daughters of former minister and Congress leader Taj Mohi-ud-Din of grabbing land in Niki Tawi area of Jammu district.
The petitioners demanded restoration of the land, which according to them has been allegedly grabbed by Taj and his three daughters.
Petition filed against ex-minister’s daughtersThe owners of 342 Kanals of land comprised in Khasra No.1 situated at Village Chak Lallo Shah, Jammu (Near Fourth Bridge, Jammu in Niki Tawi Area) namely Kamni Gupta, Geeta Gupta, Archana Gupta, Laxmi Gupta and Romi Gupta daughters of Late Hem Raj and Chanchal Gupta widow of Late Hem Raj residents of Partap Garh, Jammu filed a miscellaneous petition in the State High Court seeking restoration of their possession on the land which according to them is under the illegal occupation of three daughters of Taj Mohi-ud-Din.
In the miscellaneous petition filed through Advocate S C Gupta. “it is submitted that the issue of land grabbing by Politicians, Police Officers, Bureaucrats in league with land mafia is pending before the Division Bench in PIL filed by Prof SK Bhalla and the applicants are suffering at the hands of influential politician and are seeking intervention through the present petition.”
It is further stated in the petition that the applicants are lawful owners as share holders of land measuring 342 Kanals comprised in Khasra No.1 situated at Village Chak Lallo Shah, Jammu and the land is reflected in unlawful occupation (Kabza Na-jaiz) of Shabnam Taj, Nousheen Taj and Arshi Taj daughters of Taj Mohi-ud-Din Former PHE/Health Minister J&K Government.
The applicants have further submitted that in para 18 of the PIL the whistleblower has highlighted the brazen case of land grabbing of proprietary land of the applicants by none else than the three daughters of Taj Mohi-ud-Din.
“The revenue record of the above referred land fully demonstrates that the land is duly owned by two brothers Tilak Raj and Hem Raj (Uncle and Father of the applicants) but at present the Khasra Girdawari reflects the illegal occupation of three daughters of Taj Mohi-ud-Din.”
The applicants have prayed in the miscellaneous petition that they be permitted to intervene in the matter and appropriate directions be issued to the enforcement agencies.
