Food Safety department on Tuesday seized relabeled flood hit bottles of Treat Mango fruit drink during routine inspection in Srinagar.
In a statement, spokesperson of the department said “a team of Food Safety Officers headed by Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Srinagar on a routine inspection found Treat Mango Fruit Drink (Priyagold) manufactured by Surya Health Care Industries Bari Brahamana Jammu in a suspicious condition having been relabeled.”“On investigation, it was found that the company had recalled this product and same has been supplied to Valley with fresh date of manufacture, Batch No. etc. whereas previous labeling requirements have been erased.
Huge quantity of such flood hit items which comprised more than 1050 cases, each case containing 24 bottles were seized and sample of the same sent to the Food Analyst. The seized items shall be destroyed as per the directions of High Court at a proper place,” the statement said.
