Women Stages Protest Against Social Evils

Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement (Women wing) today held a protest demonstration in Press Enclave here against growing moral degradation and social evils.
A JKSM spokesperson in a statement said that party activists led by Ruqia Bhaji expressed concern over ‘growing social evils and moral degradation in the society’ and demanded stern punishment to those involved in crimes against women.
They asked religious organizations and civil societies to play their role.
Activists told media men that social evils and moral degradation were being ‘encouraged by anti-freedom movement elements under a well planned strategy which is unacceptable.’
“They urged upon the religious and pro-freedom organizations to initiate concrete steps for bringing an end to social evils and moral degradation in the society as the polluted society can’t strive for the cause effectively,” the spokesperson said.
“Only a crime-free and healthy society can produce true political leaders, religious clerics and representatives of other sections of society,” the spokesperson added.
The activists demanded punishment to acid throwers and murderer of a girl, raped and murdered in Pulwama recently.
