Mufti in ICU, put on oxygen therapy

Doctors at the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, have said that Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was “sick” and has been put on oxygen therapy.
They, however, said that Mufti was hemodynamically (forces involved in the circulation of blood) stable and his condition was being closely monitored by a team of experts.
“Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who is admitted to AB 8 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since December 24, is sick, requiring oxygen therapy but hemodynamically stable,” said a statement issued by the AIIMS authorities today.
“He is conscious, alert and is taking orally. He continues to be on antibiotics, antifungal drugs and supportive therapy and is being closely monitored by a team of experts,” the statement added.
The team of experts monitoring the Chief Minister’s condition include Dr Rita Sood (Professor of Medicines), Prof Mohammad Ashraf Ganaie (endocrinologist), Dr Tulika Seth (hematology) and Prof PN Dogra (urology).
Mufti was flown to Delhi on December 24 and admitted to AIIMS after he complained of exhaustion on December 22 when he took more than six-hour-long hectic tour of Srinagar city in sub-zero temperatures.
Meanwhile, the state authorities said the Chief Minister was doing fine and there was nothing to worry about. They said doctors had advised him rest.
