Geelani for joint strategy to safeguard Kashmiris studying outside JK
Says will consult all separatist camps; thanks people for observing shutdown
Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani Tuesday thanked the people for observing a complete shutdown. He said Kashmiris were protesting the harassment of Kashmiri students and vandalizing of martyrs’ graveyard and warned that if something wrong happened to ‘our dear ones studying outside the J&K, the Government of India shall be wholly responsible.’
He said, “We will chart out a comprehensive program along with all separatist camps to defend our students studying outside J&K if such incidents are not stopped.”
Geelani in his statement said, the government should not be complacent about the current lull as it has always proved to be precursor to storm.
Castigating the Indian media and government’s role over the NIT incident, Geelani said under a well thought out plan biased Indian media tried to malign the image of the Kashmir and by that Kashmiris living outside J&K are in a state of fear and attacked continuously.
