In view of militant attack in Gurdaspur, Punjab, high alert has been sounded across Jammu especially on the International Border.
Sources said after the militants carried out attack in Gurdaspur, Punjab security agencies in the State sounded high alert.“The police and paramilitary personnel were jointly monitoring the situation and strengthened security grid on Jammu-Pathankot highway,” they said.
They said the border guards had increased vigil and patrolling on IB. “The BSF men have also laid nakas on the roads leading from border villages towards the towns”.
Sources said the police and paramilitary personnel were conducting checking of vehicles at these nakas. “Besides, the security of the Amarnath pilgrims in Jammu was increased with additional security men being deployed around bus stand and other sensitive places”.
They said security was also beefed up in sensitive areas of Samba and Kathua districts in view of past militant attacks.
In Jammu city also, police has set up nakas and were searching vehicles at these points.
