Yesvantpur-Katra train to be launched tomorrow
Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu will launch a new premium train from Yesvantpur to Katra tomorrow to cater to the growing number of pilgrims to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir.
Besides, Prabhu will also flag off three more trains including two premium services from Bangalore to Patna, Kamakhya and Tatanagar.
Yesvantpur-Katra weekly Premium Express, Patna-Bengaluru weekly Premium Express, Kamakhya-Bengaluru weekly Premium Express and Tatanagar-Yesvantpur weekly express are going to be flagged off by the Railway Minister tomorrow, said a senior Railway Ministry official.
“Premium trains are special trains with a dynamic pricing system where tickets can be booked online only,” said the official, adding the “cost of ticket varies according to the demand like air tickets.”
Barring Yesvantpur-Katra weekly Premium service, other three trains will be flagged off by Prabhu by remote control system at Bangalore.
Besides Prabhu will also lay the foundation stone of a foot over-bridge at Bengaluru City station.
