Samboora shutdown continues for 4th day

Shutdown continued for the fourth consecutive day in Samboora village of Pulwama district against alleged vandalization of a signpost in the local cemetery by security forces.
The locals say that some security personnel vandalized a signpost with verses of Quran written on it in the local cemetery during the intervening night of 17th and 18th August.
Demanding action against the personnel, the locals seek re-installation of the signpost.
“We are observing strike for last four days for our demands. But the administration is mute. The forces have desecrated our Holy Quran but no action is being taken against them,” locals said. They said the strike will continue till the guilty personnel are punished and new signpost installed.
