Hurriyat (M) calls for shutdown, Eidgah Chalo on May 21

Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has called for complete shutdown on May 21 and said that a public rally would be held at Eiddgah, Srinagar on the same day.

Hurriyat (M) calls for shutdown, Eidgah Chalo on May 21In a statement issued to Kashmir Dispatch the spokesman of the hurriyat said that the amalgam convened a joint meeting of Hurriyat’s Executive Council and General Council Members at conglomerate’s headquarters. “All the representatives of all the constituents of APHC participated in the meeting”. During the meeting, the participants took a detailed view of the ongoing political situation besides discussing organizational matters, the spokesman said.

 

The meeting, which was called especially to finalize the arrangements for Hafta Shohda programs, also paid glorious tributes to Shaheed-e- Millat, Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Farooq, Shaheed-e-Hurriyat Kahwaja Abdul Gani Lone, Hawal martyrs and all the martyrs of Kashmir, the spokesman said.

A seminar on Sunday, May 17 would be organized at Hurriyat Headquarters and on Sunday May 24 a prayer meeting cum public rally would be held at Kralpora Kupwara to pay tributes to Shaheed-e- Millat and Shaheed-e-Hurriyat. It was resolved in the meeting that all the constituents would make full efforts to make the Hafta Shohda program a grand success on all levels, the spokesman said.

The aim to observe Hafta Shohda is to pay tributes to the martyred leaders as well as thousands of martyrs of Kashmir who laid their lives for the supreme cause and to show complete resolve and commitment towards the freedom struggle so that it becomes known upon the world that Kashmiris would continue to pursue with the struggle till the issue is not resolved according to the wishes and aspirations of people of Kashmir, he said.

In the meeting grief and sorrow was expressed over the death of two dozen passengers after their vehicle turtle into a ravine in Udhampur area. While extending solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved families, the participants prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured in the accident, the spokesman added.
