Parts of Jammu Kashmir missing in Karnataka govt advert
The Karnataka government has earned the ire of Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for releasing an advertisement showing a map of India with a significant part of Jammu and Kashmir and northeast missing from it.
India Today reported that the advertisement was released by the Karnataka government in a Malaysian newspaper.
The opposition BJP called it a major lapse by the Congress government and asked the state tourism department to explain.
The government retorted that it was not responsible as the ads were released by agencies contracted for the event in Malaysia.
“The ad was not released by the state government. It was released by a Singapore-based company which was given the responsibility for the publicity of the event in Malaysia,” India Today quoted Karnataka Tourism Minister RV Deshpande as saying.
