Cloud burst damaged 20 houses in Kargil
At least 20 residential houses were damaged after a cloud burst struck Choskore Wakha village in Kargil district on Tuesday night.
Official sources told CNS that a cloud burst sparked flash floods in Choskore Wakha village, some 42 kilometers from main town Kargil in Jammu and Kashmir. “The cloud burst and the subsequent flash floods damaged all but 20 residential houses. The district administration shifted the victims to safer places,” officials said.
Officials said that people living in hilly areas of the district have been advised to move to plain areas as there are apprehensions more cloud bursts may occur during inclement weather. (CNS)
