General Bus Stand Batamaloo to be shifted to Parimpora

Authorities on Wednesday cleared decks for shifting the General Bus Stand at congested Batamaloo locality here to Parimpora on the city outskirts.
General Bus Stand Batamaloo to be shifted to ParimporaOfficials said the move is aimed to streamline the vehicular movement at Batamaloo which witnesses frequent traffic jams.
The decision was taken in a meeting of officers chaired by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon. Officers of Traffic Police and Srinagar Development Authority participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, it was decided and approved to shift Batamaloo General Bus terminal to Parimpora for which the SDA has already acquired 100 kanals of land at transport yard
The Divisional Commissioner directed the Srinagar Municipal Corporation and other departments to take immediate steps for construction of the new Bus terminal at Parimpora so that it becomes functional at the earliest.
In the meeting, it was stated that after shifting of Bus terminal to Parimpora, traffic will ply smoothly. Besides better transport facilities will be provided to the people of North Kashmir districts of Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Traffic, Regional Transport Officer Kashmir, Joint Director Information Kashmir, senior functionaries of SDA and SMC.
