Consultancy dupes students of lakhs of rupees for Jobs in GulfA Srinagar based ‘job placement consultancy’ has allegedly duped six Postgraduate students across the Valley after they were ripped off lakhs of rupees in as a placement for jobs in Gulf.
The students alleged that Al Noor India Education and Placement at Munawarabad had in March promised them teaching jobs in Omam “for which they charged hefty amount of money.
Among the students are Mudasir Sadiq Mir from Lolab Kupwara, Tasaduq Khalil from Lar, Ganderbal, Lailaul Qadr from Bandipora, Nuzhat Qadir from Rajouri Kadal and Sania from Batmaloo in Srinagar.
The students said that Sania was paid all the money back after she had threatened the consultancy that she would lodge complaint with police and highlight the matter in media.
They said all the candidates have Masters in English and Linguistics from University of Kashmir.
The students said that the placement consultancy which Qadfeen Choudhary claimed to own had advertised teaching jobs for Oman.
 “We applied for the jobs through the Al Noor India Placement Consultancy. Our interviews were conducted by two delegates whom Qadfeen claimed were from Oman. But actually they looked South Indian. After the interview some of us were called by phone and some by emails that we have been selected for the jobs,” the candidates told KNS.
 “Later, Qadfeen Choudhary asked us to deposit money in his account to be spent for their visas to Oman,” they said.
Mudassir and Tasaduq said they paid Rs 2.40 lakh, Rs 1.20 lakh respectively. Lailatul Qadr said she paid Rs 75,000, Nuzhat whose father is a mason said she paid Rs 72000 through cheques to him.
Among these Tasaquq, Lailtul Qadr are orphans and have raised loans to pay to Qadfeen.
“Qadfeen assured us that he would soon get visas for Oman but till now neither we got our visas nor money. The consultancy cheated with us and ruined our careers,” the students told KNS.
The students said that Qadfeen paid them fraud cheques which bounced after they went to the bank. “When I went to bank to withdraw the cheque, the account had only Rs 125 in it,” Mudassir said.
The students said they did lodge complaint with the police station hoping to get money back amicably.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Central Kashmir Range Ghulam Hassan Bhat told KNS that police will take action against the people who have duped the students.
 “We will take action against the consultancy and the person who has cheated the students,” Bhat told KNS.
Qadfeen Choudhary said that the candidates have deposited the money with the consultancy as security which are refundable.
“Out of this amount, I have refunded to some of them. And now only four are remaining out of which two have been paid 50 percent of the amount. I will pay the remaining amount to the candidates within a week,” Qadfeen said. (KNS)
