Assist youths rendered jobless - Cong to govt“Appropriate measures must be taken so that the livelihood of businessmen, especially youths, was not affected. The government should take appropriate measures for the youths who were being rendered jobless due to the sealing of malls which did not have parking space,” said the JKPCC in a press note.
Following a High Court order, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) had started taking action against the violators for turning parking lots into commercial spaces.
The JKPCC said in the press note that the state government should take care of the livelihood of the persons whose business establishments were sealed by the Srinagar Municipal Corporation as it would render thousands of persons jobless.
The traders appealed to the Chief Minister on Monday to take measures so that the livelihood of businessmen, especially youths, was not affected due to sealing.
They questioned the granting of permission by the Srinagar Municipal Corporation for setting up complexes and buildings which did not have any parking facility.
