Strike cripples life in parts of South Kashmir
Strike crippled life in several parts of south Kashmir, where people are protesting against the arrest of six youths, including brother of a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander, in connection with attack on a police party at Anantnag that left two personnel died recently.
Shops and business establishments remained closed in Khudwani and Koimoh in north Kashmir and traffic was off the roads. Work in government offices and educational institutions was also affected. People alleged that six innocent youths were arrested by security forces after the Anantnag attack. Demanding immediate release of all the youths, the residents threatened to intensify their agitation. However, life was normal elsewhere in south Kashmir.
