The joint resistance leadership comprising, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and JKLF Chief Muhammad Yasin Malik have asked people to come out on the streets on Wednesday and stage a 72-hour sit-in.
In a statement here they said, “People should march towards the office of United Nations Military Observers Group (UNMOG) at Sonawar in Srinagar. Wherever forces stop you stage a sit-in there for 72-hours.”
They urged people to make the UN chalo march a success and come out of their homes so that “decisive phase” of the ongoing movement is launched.

Army on Tuesday afternoon entered Kurhama village in Ganderbal district and ransacked the households in the village. Sources told Kashmir Post that Badampora unit of Army entered in 18 vehicles on Tuesday afternoon at 12:15 and left at 3:30 pm. Sources said Army created havoc in the village and people are afraid of going out.
They said scores of people were also beaten and many precious belongings of the residents were looted by the army.

An all-women protest rally was taken out in Ajas area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday.
The protest rally marched through all big and small roads, lanes and bylanes of Ajas area.
Amid raising of pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, the protesters demanded an end to killings in Kashmir.
The rally was on when this report was filed. People staged a peaceful protest at Gulshan Chowk and Nowpora Chowk of the district.
Meanwhile, a complete shutdown was observed amid the strict curfew for the 39th consecutive day in Sumbal and hajin areas on Tuesday.

Former chief minister Omar Abdullah Tuesday lashed out at New Delhi for raising the issue of Balochistan at a time when Kashmir has been hit by violence. “6 protesters dead in Kashmir in 24 hours but WTH let’s go sort out Balochistan since we are doing such a good job in J&K at the moment!” Omar wrote on twitter.
Following the all-party meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 12, the Centre decided to raise the issue of human rights violations in Balochistan province of Pakistan. The Prime Minister also referred to Balochistan in his Independence Day speech yesterday.

The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and its affiliated associations lead by the President Mushtaq Ahmad Wani held a protest march on Tuesday.
The protest was organized against the killings of innocent Kashmiris that included children, women, young and old. The protesting members of the business community demanded early settlement of Kashmir issue, stopping of genocide and stop perpetual atrocities committed on Kashmiris for their demand for settlement of Kashmir issue.
The members of the business community marched from the KCCI’s Residency Road Office to the Press Enclave.
