
Woman teacher shot dead by unknown gunmen in Kulgam
A migrant lady was shot at and injured by unknown gunmen, suspected to be militants, in Gopalpora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday. Soon after, the lady was declared dead in a local hospital.
A top police officer told GNS that a migrant woman was fired upon by militants in Gopalpora.
As per Kashmir Police Zone, militants fired upon the woman, who is a teacher at High School Gopalpora in Kulgam district. “In this terror incident, she has received critical gunshot injuries. She is being shifted to the hospital while the area has been cordoned off,” the police spokesman had said.
The lady was immediately shifted to nearby District Hospital Kulgam for treatment. Her condition was critical and doctors declared her dead when she was shifted to the hospital.
The slain teacher has been identified as Rajni, wife of Raj Kumaar, from Samba district of the union territory.
Soon after the attack, the whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
