NC using polythene posters, banners in Uri

Flouting norms, ruling National Conference is using polythene posters and banners for campaigning in Uri constituency of this north Kashmir district.

After issuance of SRO-182 on June 18, 2008, manufacture, trade, transportation or use of polythene carry bags became illegal in the state. The High Court also passed slew of directions, asking
authorities to stick to the ban in letter and spirit.
“NC workers have been posting polythene posters and banners from last many days,” said a local resident, Javid Ahmad Khan.
When contacted Sub District Magistrate (SDM) Uri Dr Abdul Aziz, said the administration had strictly made it clear to all political parties not to use polythene banners and posters during campaigning in the district.
“I will look into the matter tomorrow and action will be taken against violators,” he said.
