Hurriyat (G) slams NC, PDP for ‘doublespeak’ on BJP

Terming PDP, NC and other mainstream political parties in J&K as “unprincipled and selfish”, the Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani Monday said “the goal of these power-hungry parties is to achieve power at any cost.”
“During the so-called assembly election campaign, these parties talked in favour of Kashmir and Kashmiris. Now when it comes to formation of the so-called government, they have forgotten their all promises and have thrown their words into dustbin. They are sparing no effort to get ministerial berths,” a spokesman of the Hurriyat said in a statement.
He said: “During the election campaign, all these parties termed BJP as communal and called Narendra Modi as killer of innocent Muslims of Gujarat. But now in pursuit of government formation and ministerial berths, they have forgotten everything. They are now concerned about power only. The role of these parties, since 1947, has never been to favour Kashmiris. The Article 370 to which they are frequently referring to has been rendered hollow by these parties themselves.”
The Hurriyat spokesman said: “These people are senior players in the field of politics and by resorting to policy of delay in so-called government formation, they want to give an impression to the common people that they are concerned for their betterment. The delay caused in the so-called government formation is not due to the ideological differences between them but for materialistic reasons because every party wants maximum share in the cabinet so that they can have maximum benefits. They are more concerned about funds than honor, dignity and welfare of common Kashmiris.”
He said: “These daily-wagers of India are fully aware of the fact that the BJP is proceeding with a mission and that they will only use them in implementing their own agenda in Kashmir. While NC played its role in BJP government in the past, as a home minister of India, Mufti Sayed proved that their status is nothing but that of helpers of New Delhi and their politics lacks principles and policy. Whoever forms the so-called government, Jammu and Kashmir will be ruled directly by the Indian Home Minister.”
