Jawahar Nagar flood victims get PDD shocker

Served bills for September

Inhabitants of Jawahar Nagar complained that Power Development Department(PDD) has shot them electric bills for September 2014 when area was devastated by floods and remained  submerged for around a month.

A delegation comprising Mohalla committee members said: “PDD has shot us bills for the months of September, October and November.”
“For flood devastated City, which reeled under darkness for days together and power supply in some areas could only be restored after months, there has been no concession in electricity bills from the PDD,” they said.
They said the electricity in the area was fully restored in November. “The PDD officials shot bills even to those whose residential houses collapsed in the deluge,” they added.
They appealed the Superintending Engineer PDD Hastmat Qazi to look into the matter.
