Hurriyat (G) to reward toppers: Geelani

Hurriyat (G) to reward toppers - GeelaniFelicitating the students of class 10th, especially Ghalib Afzal Guru, who bagged 19th position in class tenth exams, the Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Monday announced that his amalgam would reward top 20 position holders.

Geelani praised the teachers of all the schools who showed best performance in the 10th class exams including a school at Dooru, Sopore, namely Unique Public School.

“The performance of our children in studies despite living in the worst kind of conflict zone of the world is very encouraging and praiseworthy. Kashmiri nation has produced many legendary personalities and scholars in the past and this soil is still fertile in that respect. But the political uncertainty and instability in this region have badly affected the children of Kashmir,” Geelani said, in a statement.

“I personally feel extraordinary joy that despite all these adverse situations, our children who have been orphaned by the forces are excelling in the field of education.”

Meanwhile, the Hurriyat spokesman, has expressed surprise over, what he said, “the greetings to Muhammad Afzal Guru’s son by those people who have a direct hand in his father’s hanging”.

“The out-of-power NC has now suddenly begun to issue pro-Kashmir statements and has started to show concern for the interests and dignity of the Kashmiris. This greedy pro-Indian party stands completely exposed before the Kashmiri people and they cannot deceive them anymore. They have a long history of betrayals and deceptions and they have always been power hungry people,” Ayaz Akbar said.
