Three held for ‘uploading militant content’ on social network sites in PulwamaPolice’s Special operation Group (SOG) have arrested three students in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district over ‘uploading militant content’ on social networking sites.

A senior police officer told Srinagar-based news agency GNS that on the directions of Police Cyber Cell based in summer capital, the SOG raided two separate places in the district and arrested three
youths.

He identified arrested youths as Mushtaq Ahmed Kumar, Muhammad Adil Wani and Zakir Ahmed Malik. While Mushtaq and Adil were picked up from Piglina village, Zakir, who hails from Pakharpora, was arrested from Malikpora in the district.

“The trio was misusing Facebook and WhatsApp by uploading pro-militant and anti-India content. They were also running a page namely ‘Pulwama Live’ on Facebook. We arrested them on the directions of Cyber Cell of police in Srinagar,” he said.
The officer added that more arrests are expected in this regard. “There could be more arrests as we are questioning them,” he said. (GNS)
