Sportspersons to be felicitated on I-Day: Div Com

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today directed all deputy commissioners to felicitate young sportspersons on the upcoming Independence Day to mark their contribution. He also asked them to involve maximum number of youth for the event.
The Divisional Commissioner made the comments during a high-level officers’ meeting held here to review the arrangements for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations in the districts of the Kashmir valley and Ladakh region.
An official statement said the Divisional Commissioner was apprised by the officers of the arrangements made for the smooth conduct of Independence Day celebrations in every district of Kashmir division.
The meeting was informed that the main function would be held at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar, where the chief guest would unfurl the national flag. Baseer Ahmad Khan also directed all deputy commissioners to organise Independence Day celebrations at the tehsil and subdivisional levels so that a large chunk of population was involved in the celebrations.
