Target Killing 2022: 18 Civilians killed across Kashmir since last five months

Seventeen civilians were killed in Kashmir in the last five months so far this year.

As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), they include 12 Kashmiri Muslims, two from minority community, a Hindu teacher, a bank manager from Rajasthan and an employee of a liquor shop.

On 25 Feb, a civilian identified as Shakeel Ahmad Khan resident of Shopian was killed during a gunfight in Amshipora Shopian in which two militants were killed as well.

On 02 March a Panch identified as Mohammad Yaqoob Dar of Kulpora Srandroo Kulgam was shot dead at his residence.

On 6 March, two persons namely Mohammad Alsam and Rafiya Jan were killed in a grenade attack in Amira Kadal Srinagar.

On 9 March, a PDP sarpanch Sameer Bhat was killed in Khonmoh area of Srinagar.

On 11 March, Sarpanch identified as Shabir Ahmed Mir from Audoora Kulgam was killed near his residence.

On 21 March, a civilian Tajamul Mohiudin was killed in Gotipora Budgam.

On 27 March, a student Umar Ahmad Dar was killed along with his SPO brother at his residence in Chadibugh Budgam.

On 13 April, Satish Kumar Singh, a Kashmiri Rajput man was shot dead inside his home in Kulgam’s Kakran

On 15 April, an independent sarpanch namely Manzoor Bangroo was killed by militants in Pattan area of Baramulla district.

On 10 May, a civilian Shahid Ganaie was killed in crossfire during an encounter in Pandoshan Shopian.

On 12 May, a Kashmir Pandit Rahul Bhat working in revenue department was killed by militants in Tehsil office Chadoora Budgam.

On 15 May, Suhaib Ganaie a resident of Turkwangam was killed in crossfire during an encounter in his native village.

On 15 May, Ranjit Singh was an employee at Liquor shop in Baramulla when a grenade was lobbed inside the liquor shop.

On 26 May, TV artist Amreena Bhat of Hushroo Chadoora was killed in her home

On 31 May, a Hindu teacher namely Rajini from Samba was killed by militants in Gopalpora Kulgam.

On June 02, Vijay Kumar a bank manager at Ellaquai Dehati Bank hailing from Rajasthan was killed inside his office.

On June 02, two migrant labourers were shot at, in Budgam’s Chadoora. One of them identified as Dilkhush resident of Bihar succumbed to his injuries. (KNO)
