Remove security forces camps from populated areas: Mirwaiz

Moderate Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who continues to be under house arrest, has demanded removal of security forces camps from populated areas of Kashmir, alleging that it is the presence of these very camps which is responsible for the loss of civilian lives in Kashmir.
“The presence of the Army and other forces camps in populated areas of cities, town and villages is the main reason for the loss of civilian lives in Kashmir,” Mirwaiz said, while conveying his condolences to the parents of the slain Srinagar youth, Gouhar, over telephone today, as he continues to be under house arrest.
Mirwaiz demanded removal of these camps from populated areas, alleging that government “forces are using their unbridled powers with arbitrariness and with impunity.”
Mirwaiz also condemned the killing of Gouhar who was killed in police action on Saturday evening when protests broke in the area against Modi’s visit.
Meanwhile, a delegation of leaders from Moderate Faction today visited Mustafabadad, HMT, on the city outskirts to condole the death of Gouhar and to show solidarity with his bereaved parents.
