Education Department in civil secretariat on Friday sent its report regarding mass promotion to State’s education ministry and a final nod will be taken by the government, a top official said.
The official said no decision has been taken yet, setting to rest all the rumors doing rounds in social media that government has decided mass promotion up to 9th class as well as 11th class.
The official said that the directorate of school education has annexed report from health and local metrological department regarding swine flu and weather forecast respectively.
The file has been sent to secretariat and the final decision in this regard lies with Chief Minister after consultation with Education Minister, the official added.
The official said that the examination has been already completed covering 80% of syllabus and exemption of 20% part of Term 2nd (T2) would mean mass promotion.
Meanwhile, when contacted director school education Kashmir, Showkat Ahmad Beigh told Kashmir Glory that the Directorate has not received any communication from higher ups with regard to mass promotion as well as extension of winter vacation.
