Omar tweets PDP leaders’ ‘anti-BJP sermons’

Slams Mehbooba, Karra for ‘doublespeak’

Continuing to slam the Peoples Democratic Party, the National Conference working president Omar Abdullah Tuesday lashed out at the PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti and party Member Parliament Tariq Hamid Karra, reminding them of their “anti-BJP sermons” during the Assembly poll rallies.

Omar said the fresh step towards PDP-BJP bonhomie “reflects dual character of the party.” Omar tweeted two links on Mehbooba Mufti’s speeches against Prime Minister NarendraModi and BJP, during her election campaign.
In one of the links, Mehbooba in an interview to a Delhi-based newspaper had said, “The mood of the people is to give majority to a single party. We will not require the support of anyone. People vote one party to be in power and the others to be in Opposition. It would be a betrayal of the verdict if parties that were opposed to each other become partners. BJP and we have divergent views and agendas. We are saying opposite things on issues such as Article 370. I cannot overlook that for the sake of power. That will be belittling the voters.”
Omar also reminded Karra about his speech against BJP. “I wonder what Karra is saying now :-)“@jkpdp: NC drawing closer to BJP for survival: Karra,” he tweeted.
Karra, according to the link Omar shared, had stated that “sensing rout in the very first phase of polls, National Conference (NC) has again started drawing closer to BJP for survival.”
“NC working president Omar Abdullah’s latest announcement that he was ready for post-poll alliance with the saffron party, subject to certain conditions, indicates his desperation after smelling the trouble for his party in the very first phase of polls,” Karra had said in last week of November during an election rally in Khanyar (Srinagar).
Karra had said: “Omar Abdullah went around apologizing for his party’s alliance with BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, where he himself was a junior minister. But Omar Abdullah now seems to be again making desperate bid to reach out to his mentors in BJP and RSS as his heart was always there. Omar Abdullah’s latest bid for rapprochement with the Saffron brigade has now cleared all the doubts regarding the anti-Kashmiri designs of the NC leadership.”
The NC working president also reminded PDP’s DrHarbaksh Singh about his speech against BJP.
Dr Singh during his election speech had said: “BJP is playing dangerous politics in J&K.”
Meanwhile, Omar is returning from London on Wednesday.
