Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh has filed a complaint against Air India for the ‘erratic air services’ faced by the people of Ladakh.

J&K Deputy CM Nirmal Singh files complaint against Air IndiaIn his complaint filed to Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Singh said that the people of Ladakh had earlier filed a similar complaint.

He also mentioned one event of June 24, when people who had come to Ladakh to celebrate the Sindhu Darshan festival had complained against a pilot for dictating the time of arrival and departure of flights as well as the also the time for the passengers to board the plane.

“On June 24, I landed at Leh at 6.30 am by an Indigo flight to attend the Sindhu Darshan festival as chief guest on the request of the organising committee. The function was scheduled to start at 9 am, so I booked my return tickets on the same day in an Air India flight, which was to depart at 11.20 am… At around 9.53 am, when I was performing the rituals, I received a message that the Air India flight has reached early and is ready to depart,” Nirmal Singh’s complaint read.

The Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister further said that it was wrong on the part of Air India as its officials had not only brought disrespect to the National Air Carrier but had also caused anguish to the people of Ladakh, whom he represents via his post.
