Staff at Kupwara exam centre suspended for abetting copying

Following complaints of copying at the exam centre at Government Higher Secondary School, Tikipora, the authorities today placed under suspension the examination staff, including the principal. The policemen deployed at the examination centre were placed under suspension, officials said.

Locals said action taken against the erring officials and policemen would serve as a deterrent to exam staff intending to resort to copying.
“It is a good move to take action against the erring staff and policemen,” said Mohammad Yasin whose son is currently appearing in the Class XII exams.
Following the directive from Minister for Education Naeem Akhter, Director, School Education, Kashmir, Shah Faesal ordered suspension of Education Department employees, including the principal of the higher secondary school, posted at the examination centre.
The Lolab SDM has been asked to conduct an inquiry. “I have ordered a thorough probe to be conducted by the SDM, Lolab,” Akhter said, adding pending inquiry, the staff along with the principal of the institute have been placed under suspension.
