Govt won’t allow Abhinavgupta Yatra: Akhtar
The government Thursday said it won’t allow any yatra proposed by a New Delhi based organization-Acharaya Abhinav Gupta Sheshadri Samroh Samiti – to a cave in Beerwah area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Government spokesman and minister for Education said no such yatra will be allowed.
“No such yatra will be allowed. This has been already made clear by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy Chief Minster Nirmal Singh,” Akhtar said.
He, however, said traditional pilgrimages and fairs will be allowed.
“We have not received any proposal for yatra to Beerwah, Budgam. In case there is any proposal, the government won’t allow it,” he said.
The minister said holding such a yatra is rumours only and should not be taken seriously.
