Srinagar gas pipeline: Govt to hasten land acquisition

Government has initiated the process for land acquisition for laying of Bhatinda-Jammu-Srinagar gas pipeline project.
Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Ch Zulfkar Ali said this while replying to a question by Ajay Kumar Sadhotra in the Legislative Council here today.
The minister said that “proceedings for acquiring users’ rights have been initiated by Assistant Commissioner Revenue of Kathua and Samba districts.” The Minister added that the process for land acquisition and getting the required NOCs for the project will be hastened. The Minister said the project is being implemented by GSPL India Gasnet Limited (GIGL) of Gujarat which is a consortium of oil companies and all expenses on laying of gas pipeline will be borne by them.
