Azam Inquillabi endorses UJC, Hurriyat claims over Lashkar-e-Islam

Warns of Taliban’s arrival in Kashmir

Azam Inquillabi endorses UJC, Hurriyat claims over Lashkar-e-IslamEndorsing the claims of United Jihad Council and Hurriyat Conference (G), the Mahaz-e-Azadi (MeA) patron and former militant commander Azam Inquillabi Thursday said Lashkar-e-Islam is the “creation of Indian intelligence agencies” and warned that Taliban fighters may flood Kashmir in near future.

In a telephonic conversation with Srinagar-based news agency, GNS, Inquillabi who is also ex-chief of UJC, said he completely agrees with the “investigations” conducted by militant amalgam headed by Syed Salahuddin vis-à-vis previously unknown Lashkar-e-Islam which has claimed spate of attacks on telecom employees and masts in north and central Kashmir.

“We consider UJC a very responsible institution not only of Mujahideen but Kashmir people which is active in the field of Jihad from last 27 years. Its chairman, Syed Salahudin, is active since 25 years in the field of Jihad. He is a literate and a responsible man… his eyes are on the situation. He knows everything and holds secret information on every issue. So, after conducting probe, they (UJC) concluded that attacks on mobile telecommunication towers are the handiwork of Indian secret agencies,” he said, adding: “I completely agree with their announcement.”

The 68-year old militant commander-turned-pro-freedom leader said he also endorses Geelani’s claim wherein the latter’s amalgam said they have “evidence” that Lashkar-e-Islam is the creation of Indian agencies.
“Geelani sahib is at a position where all sensitive sections of nation remain in touch with him; share latest information with him,” adding: “their claim of having evidence would be based on facts.”

In reply to a question, the ex-chief of disbanded Operation Balakote (OB) outfit, said: “A sincere Kashmiri militant who wishes to operate independently would first approach his elders, be it political leaders or militant leaders, and reveal future plan before them.” He urged new militant recruits of the region to contact Hizbul Mujahideen supreme commander Syed Salahuddin for “guidance” and opposed “independent operations”.

Inquillabi warned India that Taliban fighters of Af-Pak region may enter Kashmir and engage its forces in fighting. “I feel India is fortunate enough since this moment there aren’t those minds in Afghan and Pakistan Taliban who will ask their fellow fighters to reach Kashmir via Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. But now, the threat looms. India’s political and military command should concentrate over this threat and stop irritating Pakistan,” he said.

He said all Taliban need is a commander who will guide them towards Kashmir for “helping their oppressed brothers”. He said even Pakistan, which is currently fighting Taliban, would be unable to stop them. “India should thank Pakistan for stopping Taliban’s inroads into Kashmir,” he added. He asked Indian to shun rigidity and take steps for everlasting solution of Kashmir issue. (GNS)
