Despite floods, APS Srinagar excels in studies: Governor

Despite floods, APS Srinagar excels in studies - GovernorGovernor NN Vohra on Monday underscored the importance of good schools and dedicated teachers saying these can help to produce proficient students who would pave way for a better future.
Governor was addressing a function as Guest of Honour at the Army Public School (APS), B.B. Cantonment to felicitate class 12th toppers and the teachers of this institute.
The Governor complimented Lt. Gen. Subrata Saha, GOC, 15 Corps; Principal, Sandeep Marhatta, teachers and the students and their parents  for the excellent performance of APS in the class 12thexamination.  The APS Srinagar achieved cent percent results in the exams, displaying distinguished performance amongst 134 Army Public Schools in the country.
The Governor congratulated the Principal and teachers for this achievement notwithstanding the serious difficulties and loss of teaching time which was caused by the floods last year. He observed that the credit for this tremendous success is attributable to the seriousness, hardwork and dedication on the part of the principal, teachers and the students who stood up in the face of hard times.
The Governor lauded the School Management’s efforts in promptly restoring the flood affected infrastructure and making it the first school in the Valley to resume studies after the floods in September 2014. On the occasion, he stressed the vital importance of good schools and dedicated teachers in producing good students who would pave the way for a better tomorrow.
Lt. Gen. Subrata Saha, GOC, 15 Corps, on the occasion highlighted the School’s recent achievements.   The function was attended by a large number of Army officers and their families, school staff, students and their parents.
