Geelani blames Indian security agencies for Sopore killing

Calls for shutdown in Baramulla

Calling for complete shutdown in Baramulla district on Wednesday against the killing of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat activist Sheikh Altaf-ul-Rehman, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani said it was the handiwork of Indian secret agencies.

Geelani blames Indian security agencies for Sopore killing“By this way they actually want to frighten and terrorize the people who are on the forefront of the freedom struggle of Kashmir,” Geelani said.
“He (Altaf) was a pro-freedom person from his childhood and he has spent years in the jails. His whole family has been affected and his younger brother Shaikh Abdul Rouf was killed by Army some 20 years back when he was returning from Aligarh University to the Valley,” the Hurriyat (G) chairman said.
Accusing Indian security establishment for carrying out the killing, Geelani said: “Immediately after the statement of Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar in which he said that ‘terrorism will be eliminated by terrorism and a process of target killings will start in Kashmir’, a mysterious killing process started here which resulted in loss of many precious human lives in a short span of time.”
“The new government of India is on the dictation of RSS and they have started a well planned process of killing the common people in the Valley. They have every kind of state machinery at their disposal and they want to suppress the freedom struggle of Kashmir by their military power and for this purpose they are ready to cross any limit,” he added.
Meanwhile, on his directions, a Tehreek-e-Hurriyat delegation comprising of Hurriyat leaders Bashir Ahmad Farooqi, Master Ali Mohammad, Shaikh Mohammad Ramzan, Bashir Ahmad Qurashi, Abdul Hameed Magray and Syed Imtiyaz Hyder rushed to Sopore where they participated in Altaf’s funeral prayers.
