Avalanche hits Turtuk in Leh, Jawan goes missing
A soldier is missing and another is in critical condition after an Army patrol party was hit by an avalanche in Leh’s Turtuk on Friday morning.
The Army has launched a search operation for the missing soldier.
A ‘medium danger’ avalanche warning is issued for avalanche prone areas situated at an altitude of above 3,000 metres. This includes places like Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Kargil and Ganderbal districts of Jammu and Kashmir, the advisory said.
