Resistance Group calls for protests on Friday against attacks on Muslims in Kathua

‘Our communal harmony, brotherhood shouldn’t be mistaken as our weakness’

The united separatist leadership Wednesday strongly condemning the attack on Muslims in Kathua and appealed people to stage peaceful protests after Friday prayers on January 13 as a mark of solidarity with the victims of vandalism and highhandedness of fascist forces in Jammu.
In a joint statement, Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik said the Muslims are living under the stigma of fear psychosis for the last 70 years as their ancestors have been “butchered mercilessly” and since then they are brutalised, traumatised and throttled on one pretext or the other.
“Those raising cries on the plight of Jammu Muslims should introspect themselves to see the mutilated face of their past. At that time their humanity had lost every sheen to act as mute spectators during massacre of over 5 lakh Muslims, just for their craving for power,” they said.
The leaders said the pro-Indian leaders “always played the politics of death and destruction, in tune with their masters to pave their way through to the power corridors and build their castles on our rubble”.
“All of them climb to the chairs on the dead bodies and accusing each other as killers, is an ample proof that how can the house harbouring butchers of hundreds of innocents, be of any help in soothing the bleeding wounds of the victims,” they said adding “Shedding crocodile tears to prove their innocence can never conceal their cleavers soaked in our blood”.
The leaders asked people to stage peaceful protests after Friday prayers to protest attacks on Muslims in Kathua. “The Friday protests should convey a clear and loud message to the communal elements and their supporters that they should forget to see 2017 through the prism of 1947 and in case they even try to do so, it will be fought with iron hands.”
“The whole population of Jammu and Kashmir is a single entity and pain or turbulence anywhere will be felt everywhere,” they said.
They appealing the Muslim clerics, Imams and Khatibs of the state to highlight this grave issue in their Friday sermons to fulfill their moral responsibility and uphold the sanctity and dignity of pious podium.
“Our communal harmony and age old interfaith brotherhood should not be mistaken as our weakness as we can never tolerate any attempt on our existence and unity,” they said adding, “Killers are killers and nobody on earth can change this narrative.”
