Ministry of Home Affairs ALERTS JK on R-Day Security

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has alerted Jammu and Kashmir on security arrangements related to January 26, officials said.
Confirming this, J&K’s Director General of Police (DGP) K Rajendra Kumar told Greater Kashmir the Union Ministry has asked the security agencies to remain alert at all levels, especially along the International Border(IB) and the Line of Control (LoC) “in view the VVIP visit to India.”
The President of America, Barrack Obama, shall be the chief guest at the R-day function in New Delhi.
“Following the MHA directions, we have maintained a strict vigil across the state while forces deployed on Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB) have been asked to remain alert and keep a close watch on any suspicious movement around,” Rajendra said.
He said to ensure smooth R-Day functions, additional deployment of forces has been made and venues across the state are being closely monitored. He evaded a query on specific security measures taken, citing “security reasons.”
