Separatist leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s supporters wave Pak flags, slogans at rally
Supporters of Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq reportedly raised Pakistani flags and raised pro-Pakistani slogans at a rally in the old city area of Srinagar on Wednesday.
The rally was being held on the eve of death anniversary of Farooq’s father.
This is not the first instance of Pakistani flags being raised in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier this month, Pakistani flags were raised during a rally held by separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani in Kashmir Valley.
Similarly last month, Pakistani flags and pro-Pakistani slogans were raised at a rally organised in Srinagar by Geelani in which separatist leader Masarat Alam was also present.
The repeated instances are taking place despite Centre’s stern stand that waving of Pakistani flags will not be tolerated.
