Govt fails to rehabilitate flood-victims - Shaher-e-Khaas traders‘People of the Valley, especially of Srinagar bore the brunt of last year’s devastating floods. Ironically, despite passing of 10 months, government failed to rehabilitate them. After Eid, we will formulate a protest program against the indifferent attitude of the Government towards flood victims including traders,” said Nazir Ahmad Shah, the president of All Kashmir Traders Federation Shaher-e-Khaas Zaina Kadal in a statement.
“The traders of Shaher-e-Khaas stand by the people in these testing times. As a small gesture, we announce special discount to people on the Eid eve,” Shah said appealing people to celebrate Eid with austerity
Shah also expressed gratitude to Chairman JK Bank Mushtaq Ahmad and vice-president AR Shigan for fulfilling the Federation’s demand to keep bank’s branches open on Friday, July 17 in the wake of intermittent holidays preceding Eid-ul-Fitr.
Shah said he also took up the matter of traffic jams and lack of adequate transport facilities in Shaher-e-Khaas with SSP Traffic Masood-ul-Zaman. “He assured to look into the matter,” he said.
