SRTC to ply high-tech buses in city
Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) will soon ply high-tech buses in the summer capital.
This was stated in a meeting chaired by the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon. On the occasion, Dr Samoon directed JKSRTC authorities to provide better transport facilities to the commuters in Srinagar especially during late hours in the evening.
Dr. Samoon received a brief from concerned officers about the purchase of new high-tech passenger buses. He was informed that JKSRTC is going to purchase 200 new buses out of which sufficient quantity of buses shall be put in service in Srinagar soon, so that commuters would get rid of overloading and other related difficulties being faced by the commuters.
The Divisional Commissioner said “our vision and commitment for the Corporation’s progress needs a series of innovative measures for rejuvenating the JKSRTC which will restore people’s faith.”
Officers of SRTC, Transport, Police, State Motor Garages and Education departments participated in the meeting.
