Former CM uses Facebook to connect with masses

After twitter, former chief minister and opposition National Conference working president Omar Abdullah Tuesday launched an official Facebook page “Omar Abdullah” to connect with people.
Former CM uses Facebook to connect with massesTech savvy Omar who is famous for using twitter 24/7, in his first post on his official Facebook page said he himself would maintain and update the page and his posts would be signed OA.
He said he would be looking forward to connect with the people on this page.
“My first post on my official Facebook page. This page is maintained and updated by me and a few of my colleagues. Posts by me will be signed OA. I look forward to connecting with all of you here,” Omar said in his first post he wrote on November 02.
Nearly 2000 people have joined the page in past two days most of them welcoming Omar for launching the page.
Terming it as a right step most of the followers have responded to this official page with pro-Omar and pro-NC slogans. “It is a nice step, welcome to Facebook, NC Zindabad,” many Facebook users following him on the social networking site wrote.
Meanwhile, NC Provisional Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar confirmed that it was Omar Abdullah’s first Facebook official page created to connect to the youth through a ‘more transparent way.’
“Social networking is a powerful medium to connect to the people particularly youth in this digital era to get clear feedback without any filters,” he said.
He said that though there is not much popularization of social networking in the sub-continent but people are now using these mediums to connect with each other.
He said youth could interact with Omar directly through the page and give their immediate feedback to him on every issue without facing any hassle and inconvenience.
