Governor asks political appointees to resign immediately
In an unprecedented development, the Governor administration has asked all the political appointees including the State counsels to submit their resignation by Friday morning, sources told .
Governor NN Vohra, who is presently in New Delhi, has directed the authorities to ask all the political appointees including chairmen of Boards and Commissions, Advocate General, Additional Advocate Generals and Deputy Advocate Generals to tender their resignation by 11 AM Friday, sources said.
The PDP-BJP government which had made these appointments ceased to exist since January 7 following the death of then Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed. However, the political appointees did not resign, as norms demanded, and continued to hold the positions till date.
When contacted, Chief Secretary BR Sharma said, “I don’t know anything about the matter.”
