Vigilance books municipal official for fake degreeThe State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has registered a case against an Executive Officer of the Bandipora Municipal Committee for acquiring a “fake” degree.
Shakeel Ahmad Shah of Gundpora, Bandipora, presently posted as in charge Executive Officer, Municipal Council, Bandipora and Hajin, reportedly acquired a fake diploma degree to secure an entry in the department of urban local bodies, Kashmir.
An SVO spokesperson said verification was conducted by its sleuths after the allegations that the officer possessed a fake diploma certificate of sanitary inspector.
“During verification, it was revealed that the said officer had appeared in the sanitary inspector part-II examination during the J&K State Medical Faculty Examination session August 1988 through Charitable Mobile Hospital, Srinagar, and was declared ‘fail’. But after rechecking, the officer managed to obtain a certificate showing him as pass,” said the spokesperson.
“The verification also revealed that no such diploma certificate had been issued by the State Para Medical Council, Government Medical College, Srinagar, in favour of the accused beneficiary. It has been found that the accused had managed a fake diploma certificate by dishonest and fraudulent mean and resultantly secured his entry in the department of local bodies, Kashmir,” the spokesperson added.
Accordingly, a case was registered against the officer in police station Vigilance Organisation, Kashmir, said the spokesperson.
