‘People will never forgive you’ Geelani to Mufti

‘People will never forgive you’ Geelani to MuftiStating that Kashmiris will “never forgive” Mufti Muhammad Sayeed-led Peoples Democratic Party, the Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani Monday said the killing of Zahid Rasool Bhat is a cold-blooded murder and “the government is trying to divert the attention of people by booking the accused persons under the Public Safety Act.”
“The persons involved in this heinous crime have been booked under PSA which is an eyewash. By doing this, th e sympathizers and masters of these criminals are trying to save them (culprits),” Geelani said in a statement, while expressing deep sorrow over the killing of Zahid.
“Killing of Zahid is a cold blooded murder. We demand registration of murder charges against the accused and capital punishment for them.”
The senior pro-freedom leader said the “BJP-PDP coalition has brought destruction and miseries to people of Jammu & Kashmir.”
“This coalition (PDP-BJP) has highly encouraged communal-minded people in the state who have been given a free hand to carry out open attacks on Muslims here,” Geelani said, adding, “People of Kashmir will never forgive Mufti Muhammad Sayeed-led party for handing over the control of the state to the RSS-minded people.”
Geelani also expressed deep condolences and sympathy with the family members of Zahid.
Terming “government-sponsored” anti-Muslim riots including those in Dadri and Himachal Pradesh as “blots on the so-called democratic face of India”, Geelani said “India is directly ruled by fascists and communal-minded people.”
“Fast growing intolerance in India is a matter of deep concern for the entire minority community,” he said. “RSS and its allied parties have a long-pending agenda of converting India into a Hindu Rashtriya. For this, they have planned to either forcibly convert people of other religions through Ghar Wapsi-like programs or eliminate Muslims and other minorities from the country by inciting communal tensions.”
“After a very long wait, they feel they have got a favorable government which will help them in implementation of their wicked agendas,” Geelani said.
Geelani said the “communal forces in India are so encouraged with the BJP rule that they only need to find a small excuse to kill any Muslim or a Christian or any other person from minorities.”
He appealed human rights organizations and the world community to “come to the rescue of minorities in India who are facing worst kind of state terrorism.”
Meanwhile on the directions of Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, a senior-level Hurriyat delegation led by its general secretary Haji Ghulam Nabi Sumji Monday visited Batengoo Anantnag (Islamabad) where they participated in the funeral prayers of Zahid. The prayers were led by Tehreek-e-Hurriyat district president Islamabad Mir Hafizullah.
While strongly condemning imposition of curfew-like restrictions in the entire valley particularly in Srinagar and Islamabad and detention of dozens of Hurriyat leaders and activists in their houses or at different police stations, Geelani said “on the one hand our loved ones are mercilessly killed by the government forces or by their sponsored goons and on the other, they are forcibly stopped to even mourn these killings.”
