Forces on rampage in Batamaloo; Clashes erupted in Ganderbal, scores injured
Following the killings of a youth in Dobi Mohalla and SD Colony of Batamaloo area of Srinagar, government forces including CRPF and Police is on rampage in the area. Local told Kashmir Post the forces have smashed windowpanes almost everywhere in the area and are harassing residents.
They said dozens of residential houses have been ransacked. Many kids have managed to escape unhurt from these areas. Heavy tear smoke shells have also been lobbed to contain the ongoing protests. A 17-year-old youth, Yasir Ahmed of S D colony Batamaloo was shot in the chest by forces on Monday evening in the area.
Amid complete shutdown clashes erupted between armed forces and people in Kurhama and Barosa areas of Ganderbal district. Sources told Kashmir Post scores have been injured in the clashes.
They said one of the injured youth has been referred to Srinagar.
