Kashmiri Pandits once again on terror radar as Lashkar affiliate vows to continue targeting minorities

Days after over 20 journalists in Kashmir allegedly received anonymous online threats from The Resistance Front (TRF), a shadow organisation of the proscribed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), the Valley’s Hindu have once again come under terrorism radar.
The story of persecution that began over three decades ago, continues undeterred even today. This time TRF has given an open threat to the Hindus of Kashmir and have vowed to continue targeting them. TRF has released a list of Kashmiri Hindus and ranted that non-locals and Kashmiri Hindus were taking away jobs and land in Kashmir.
The terror outfit also said that Delhi was pushing a fascist Hindutva agenda on Kashmir and Kashmiris and they won’t let it happen. TRF also vowed to continue attacking Hindus who are “spoiling the atmosphere in the valley.”
The list TRF gave of Kashmiri Hindus they plan to target is the same one that the government had decided to give employment under a prime minister’s scheme. This is being seen as a big breach of security as questions are being raised as to how TRF got access to this confidential document.
Ranjan Jyotishi, a Kashmiri Hindu employed under a scheme by the prime minister said in a conversation with Times Now, “Such letters have reinstated and intensified the fear among us. We request that such employees and all those who are threatened by these terrorists should not be forced to join duty in Kashmir.”
The fresh threat against Hindus in Kashmir comes after a film made on their exodus in the 1990s was referred to as “vulgar propaganda” by an Israeli filmmaker at the International Film Festival of India.
Since last year, 24 people have been killed in Kashmir by various terror outfits, most of them Pakistan-backed. The victims in the past year included Kashmiri Pandits and other non-local Hindus.
As per sources, after Times Now report, the Jammu and Kashmir police has taken cognizance of the TRF threat and have begun an investigation.
