Hi-tech parking to ease traffic congestion in Jammu, says Dy CM

Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh today said the new parking facility coming up at Super Bazar in Jammu would go a long way in addressing the issue of parking of people living in the old city, streamlining the flow of traffic and solving the problems of business community.

Hi-tech parking to ease traffic congestion in Jammu, says Dy CMDr Nirmal Singh was addressing officers during a meeting to discuss execution of state-of-the-art car parking facility coming up at Super Bazar at an estimated cost of Rs 30 crore with parking facility for 352 cars. The project would be executed by ERA with funding component being provided by the ADB.

The Deputy Chief Minister directed officers to ensure that work was started as early as possible. He said they should ensure that bottlenecks, if any, in execution of the project were remove so that it was completed within the stipulated time.

The project was of vital importance vis-a-vis people living in the area and other catchment areas as they were facing acute shortage of parking  facilities, he said. It would ease flow of traffic in the area, he said. He added that they should ensure greater manageability and work in tandem to ensure timely completion.

Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister undertook a review meeting of the R&B Department to discuss the status of various development works undertaken in the sector, besides the macadamisation of roads.
