Agenda of Alliance can’t be implemented in 10 months: BJP

Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday said the ‘Agenda of Alliance’ cannot be implemented within 10-months.

Agenda of Alliance can’t be implemented in 10 months - BJP“Agenda of Alliance between PDP and BJP is for six years when the government completes its term. The agenda cannot be achieved in 10 months. PDP is not right when it says that the Agenda of Alliance with BJP was not fulfilled,” the BJP General Secretary (organization) Ashok Koul told KNS.

Asked whether BJP had approached NC for government formation, the BJP leader said “There is not truth in it.”

Koul said that the return of power projects from NHPC cannot be done in a “hurry”.

“Government of India cannot return power projects of the Jammu and Kashmir form NHPC in a rush. It will take its own time,” the BJP leader said.

He said that PDP did not show the keenness in attending the Coordination Committee meeting of the two parties. “We had formed a Coordination Committee to see the progress of implementation of the government’s agenda. But PDP was not keen to take the committee seriously. In the four or three meeting which we held, only two of its members attended the meet. Tariq Hameed Karra did not attend a single meeting. Muzaffar Hussain Baig attended only once or twice. Only Mehbooba Mufti attended the meetings. PDP made the committee ineffective,” he said.

The committee was formed by the two alliance partners to sort out controversial issues between them that would rise during their government.

A 10-member coordination committee was formed by the PDP and BJP to ensure time-bound implementation of Agenda of Alliance.

Headed by former Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, the committee had five members each from both the parties.

Other members of the committee included PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, Muzaffar Hussain Beig, Tariq Hameed Karra, Abdul Rehman Veeri and Naeem Akhter. While former BJP state president Jugal Kishore,Thusptan Chhewang and Shamsher Singh (all MPs) and Choudhary Lal Singh represented BJP. (KNS)
