Jammu Federation of Industries raises concerns over GST implementation
A delegation of the Federation of Industries, Jammu, today called on the Minister for Industries & Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga, to apprise him of the concerns of the industries’ sector in the state in view of the application of the Goods & Services Tax (GST) in the country from July 1 this year.
The delegation apprised the minister that the industrial units in Jammu have slowed down their production and that there is uncertainty about how the raw material will be brought into the state and finished goods dispatched from the state to the rest of the country.
The delegation also raised the issue of central and state incentives availed by the industries’ sector in the state and said there is uncertainty about its future under the GST regime as well.
The minister assured the delegation of raising their concerns with the Ministers of Finance at the centre and the state.
The delegation included chairman, Rajesh Jain, co-chairman and president, BBIA, Lalit Mahajan and secretary general, Ajay Langer.
